96年よりDJ活動開始。初期LABTRIBEにて国内外様々なアーティストのオープニングアクトを経験。2004年琵琶湖を望むクラブ.シェヘラザードをオープン。また遊覧船ミシガンを貸し切ったUNVERSAL CARAVANを地元クルーとオーガナイズし大成功をおさめる。現在は京都にてKAZUMAとTONE FLOATをオーガナイズ。また滋賀永源寺の古民家を利用したアート集団、天空tribeにも参加、京都～滋賀を股にかけて活動中♪質感重視のディープミニマルを中心に時にはハウスからドラムンベースまでプレイする振れ幅もまた魅力である。
DJ Unagi started DJing in 1996 and opened for artists at LABTRIBE, and in 2004 opened Scheherazade, a club that overlooked Lake Biwa. He helped organise Universal Caravan, Kazuma, and Tone Float in Kyoto, and is part of Tenku Tribe, an art collective active between Kyoto and Shiga. His sets focus on deep minimal music with an emphasis on texture and elements of DnB and house.
神戸市出身 Cafe Commonsオーナー95年留学先のアメリカ東海岸でレイブカルチャーの波を大きく受けDJを始める。Terry MullanやPaul JohnsonなどGettoなシカゴハウスのプレイスタイルに影響を受ける。
帰国後、関西、フランス、東京で活動拠点を移動しながらDJ以外にも楽曲制作、イベントオーガナイズを精力的に行ってきた。現在はニセコへ移住し、改めて今まで聞いてきた音楽や体験と向き合えるようになったことで、自身のプレイスタイルが確立。90sレイブのバイブスとファンキーなシカゴハウスのテイストを残しつつ、新旧の楽曲とスクラッチやバトルの技術を織り交ぜ、新たな意外性を探りながら独自の世界観を展開している。
Junya T. is the co-founder of Cafe Commons Niseko, and was born in Kobe, Japan. He started DJing in 1995 during his studies on the East Coast of America, and was greatly influenced by rave culture and the Chicago house style of Terry Mullan, Paul Johnson, among others.
Since returning to Japan, he has produced music, organised events, and had the opportunity to continue DJ-ing across the Kansai region, Tokyo and France. Currently based in Niseko, Junya has established his unique style of play, retaining the energy of 90s rave and Chicago house funk while incorporating contemporary tracks with scratching and battle skills.
